We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer with extensive expertise in manual and automated testing, particularly in testing PHP applications and RESTful APIs. The ideal candidate will be proficient in tools such as Codeception, Behat, and Postman, with a solid understanding of software development life cycles, test planning, and execution. The ideal candidate will be capable of thriving in a multi-cultural, geographically distributed environment.

Projects:

• Payment Gateway: The project involves new integrations and enhancing modules from an existing payment gateway, providing ongoing support and improvements.
• Payments Reconciliation: The project encompasses the design, development, and implementation of a robust software solution tailored to reconcile payments from multiple sources.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of fintech applications.
  
• Lead the development and execution of automated test scripts using tools like PHPUnit, Codeception, and Behat, focusing on the PHP codebase.
  
• Perform thorough manual testing to identify defects, usability issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  
• Design and execute tests for RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or RestAssured ensuring secure and reliable API interactions.
  
• Conduct performance testing to ensure the application can handle expected user loads.
  
• Collaborate with security teams to perform security testing, focusing on vulnerabilities common in fintech apps, such as SQL injection, XSS, and data protection.
  
• Identify, document, and track defects in a bug-tracking system (JIRA), ensuring clear communication with developers and stakeholders.
  
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline using tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI, ensuring that tests are executed on every build.
  
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide input on design and development, and ensure that quality is built into every stage of the software development life cycle.
  
• Provide regular reports on the quality of the application, highlighting risks, issues, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on testing web applications, ideally in the fintech domain.
• Proven experience in testing PHP-based applications and familiarity with common PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony).
• Proficiency in Automated Testing Tools: Experience with PHPUnit, Codeception, Behat, or similar tools for automating tests on PHP applications.
• API Testing: Strong experience in testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, RestAssured.
• Understanding of security testing practices, particularly for fintech applications, with experience identifying and mitigating common vulnerabilities.CI/CD
• Proficiency in SQL and experience testing database-driven applications, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments, as well as Windows, for testing and managing test environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make decisions based on data and evidence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly conveying technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement, seeking out ways to enhance testing processes and efficiency.
